Tool – Fear Inoculum review

leave a comment »

Let me start off by stating that I am a regular Tool fan, far from a fanboy. Fear Inoculum is easily the most awaited metal release of this year, if not for the past 5 years. I was not expecting Tool to release an album this year and I thought it was all a joke and that the  band was just trolling us. Soon after a release date came the release of the first single, Fear Inoculum. I was not too impressed with the track after a few listens, it sounded like a sum of the parts of their older songs with better production.

First video interview – Keshav Dhar (Skyharbor)

with one comment

Last week, Delhi based producer Keshav Dhar was in Mumbai to record the Mumbai metal act Providence‘s EP. A guitar clinic was also held at B69, which I attended. The turnout was decent considering it was a weekday and it was not marketed a lot.

During the clinic, Keshav played 2 Skyharbor tracks, “Aphasia” and “Trayus”. He broke down each song and also explained his songwriting technique. The clinic was great learning experience for all those present.

Sunnieth (Bhayanak Maut, Amidst the Chaos) was among the audience and that resulted in an impromptu performance of “Aphasia” at the end of the clinic. The first “live performance” of Skyharbor.

I managed to do a short interview with Keshav. Check it out here.

* Apologies for the video quality.
